Dr. Gubby Ayida is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She is a graduate of Somerville College, Oxford University and St Thomas’s Medical School, London. Her higher training and clinical experience was gained principally in major academic teaching hospitals, which were also tertiary referral centres for high-risk pregnancies and specialist gynaecology services. She was awarded a DM from Oxford for her postgraduate thesis on ‘Special Applications of Ultrasound to Management of Sub-fertility’.

Gubby’s guiding philosophy is based on a respect for pregnancy as a state of health, and childbirth as a normal, healthy physiological process. Her obstetric care respects the diversity of women’s needs and the variety of personal and cultural values that women bring to pregnancy and birthing.

Dr. Ayida focuses on women’s wellness and sexual health checks across the different age groups, cervical, uterine and ovarian cancer screening tests, management of menstrual disorders, fibroids, fertility investigation, contraception and problems of the perimenopause and menopause.

She is trained to provide treatment using MonaLisa Touch, an effective, alternative non-hormonal laser treatment for women with Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause (GSM) or vaginal symptoms such as side effect from breast cancer treatment.

Dr. Gubby Ayida was the Founder of the Women’s Wellness Centre, developing a strongly established brand. Dr. Ayida was listed in Tatler’s Guide between 2007 and 2013, to be in the Elite List of Britain’s Top 250 Private Doctors.

It was Dr. Gubby Ayida's initiative that led to The Women’s Wellness Centre having facilities for ultrasound scans, blood tests, and other linked women services such as colposcopy, breast, aesthetic, mental health, genetic testing, women’s health physiotherapists and paediatric services. This is a highly valued aspect of her women-centred holistic approach to women’s health
