Nicholas is one of the most experienced Gynaecologists and Gynaecological
surgeons working in London. He now offers outpatients assessments at our clinic.
He is a generalist and combines his gynaecological training with a holistic approach.
He will work closely with all the staff at the clinic.
Nicholas is a Menopause expert, and a member of the British Menopause Society.
He is medical director of a large menopause clinic. He is active in treating the
sequalae of vaginal atrophy, which include recurrent Urinary infections, painful
sexual intercourse with both hormonal support and for over 7 years he has used the
C02 laser, MonaLisa Touch to treat these distressing symptoms.
Nicholas will offer routine investigation and treatment for: heavy menstrual bleeding,
postmenopausal; bleeding, and pelvic pain.
Nicholas has an interest in labial pain, and in particular vestibulitis (vulvodynia). He
works closely with a psychosexual therapist.
Nicholas carries out investigations and surgical treatment for pelvic floor prolapse.
He also is an experienced laparoscopic surgeon.
Biography
He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1984. He trained in Obstetrics
and Gynaecology at some of the leading Teaching hospitals in London, Cambridge
and Oxford. He was awarded the MRCOG in 1991.
Nicholas was then awarded the Well-being Training Fellowship by the Royal College
of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1993. Following this time at Imperial College,
he was appointed a Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cambridge
University, where he started research into genetic mechanisms and high blood
pressure in pregnancy. In 1995, he was awarded a British Heart Foundation grant to
study hypertension in pregnancy. Nicholas was then appointed as a Consultant
Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Central Middlesex Hospital, and Senior Clinical
Research Fellow at Imperial College in 1996.
In 1997., he established the first NHS UK clinic for victims of female genital
mutilation in the UK and helped revise the 2003FGM act.
He has been in full time private practice over 18 years. Nicholas set up his full time
private practice. In 2018, Nicholas established a Harley Street practice.
He also has a large medico-legal practice and is called upon as an expert witness in
both civil and criminal cases.
He has written 50 peer-reviewed papers and is a Fellow of the Medical Society of
London, a member of the Chelsea Clinical Society, and the Medico-Legal Society.
He is a founding partner in Sapien Care Group, an educational platform on medicine
and society, this platform produces webinars for the public as well as the medical
profession, on a range of topics from mental health to data sharing.
In 2022, he became an elected member of the Independent Doctors Federation
Educational Committee.
